May! Where the tomatoes are in the ground and the asparagus is fresh!
Hello Nubi River Farm Friends,
I write to you from the hectic neon green beauty of May, where the body is tired in the very best way and the plants are soaking in the light of spring. May is by far our busiest month. We have seedlings to start, transplants to put in the ground, beds to prep, beds to weed, greens and onions to harvest and everything else! We have gotten the last of our celery, chard and peppers in the ground and our staggered plantings of lettuce, bok choy and spinach keep on coming! We still have some seedlings for YOU though and are excited about our first ever Plant Sale on Saturday June 4th, see below for details. In other exciting news, we are almost Certified Organic! After submitting the paperwork the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets and Food came out to the farm to look at our seedlings. Currently our seedlings are Certified Organic and in June they will certify our field crops and veggies. We are excited about this transition and have learned a lot in the process. Tomorrow we will plant potatoes and later this week transplant more flowers and herbs. It is enlivening to watch the farm come alive around us. In April the farm feels like it is holding it's breath and so are we. Will the plants grow? Will it frost again? Why is it so windy? But with May comes a sigh of relief. The plants grow so much in a single day we are left marveling but also scrambling to keep up with so much beautiful growth. Hop on! Summer is a beautiful ride. We have a few exciting news related items, so keep reading for details about CSA, what you can find in the Farm Store and details about our spring Plant Sale.

Do you use Venmo in the farm store? PLEASE remember to pay while you are in the store, I have noticed a few payments that have gotten forgotten.
